I originally started this review by describing my history with Smallville. Being 14 at the time and still more interested in cartoons than primetime series, a new live action show chronicling the early years of the young man who would become Superman seemed like the perfect series with which to make a transition. And I could write at length about what the show meant to me in its early seasons, how good the Lex/Lionel dynamic was compared to pretty much everything else on the show, and how it faltered as often as it soared (though never due to lack of ambition).
